2015 - Select Standing Committee on the Budget
Cloria is proud to represent South County -- and the South County values of prudence and restraint -- on the House Select Standing Committee on the Budget. The Select Committee on the Budget files all appropriations bills for the state, reports on appropriations bills recommended by the House's seven appropriation committees, and has general overview of matters relating to the spending of the state's money. Having Cloria on the committee means we have a conservative, sensible voice speaking on matters of taxes and spending.
2014 - Crestwood-Sunset Hills Rotary and Crisis Aid
Cloria presents Warrine Bazow, a member of Crisis Aid's wonderful team, with a check for $1,500 from the Crestwood-Sunset Rotary, where Cloria advocates on behalf of Crisis Aid, a safe home for young girls who have been victims of sex trafficking.
2013 - Tribute to Our Veterans
Every June, Cloria hosts a Tribute to Our Veterans. It's a opportunity to say "Thank You" to the many veterans in South County who have served our country and protected our freedoms. Cloria makes a donation out of the proceeds to help our veterans. In the past, donations have been given to Fisher House, Operation HomeFront, Wounded Warrior and Jefferson Barracks Food Pantry.
Here are a few of the veterans who attended the 2013 event:
2013 - American Heritage and Monarch Jewelry
In March, Cloria was fortunate to spend the morning with campers from American Heritage girls, teaching them to make jewelry and talking with them about being safe. Monarch Jewelry is a group of generous South County women volunteers who make and sell jewelry and donate all of the profits to Crisis Aid, a local group which operates a safe home for young women rescued from sex trafficking.
The American Heritage girls were an inspiration, and showed such promise of taking their turn helping South County when their time comes! Here they are, showing off the bracelets they made:
2013 - Crestwood-Sunset Hills Rotary and Crisis Aid
Cloria presents a check for $750 on behalf of Crestwood-Sunset Hills Rotary to Sue Bradley. Sue and her husband, Pat, started and run Crisis Aid. In December 2012, Crisis Aid opened a safe home for young women who have been victims of sex trafficking, the first in the region. The check is to help rescue and restore these young women.
